ESG challenge

Consumers are increasingly shifting away from brands that do not identify as sustainable, or are inconsistent in executing their ESG strategies. Transitioning towards greater sustainability is a complex procedure, with many different criteria to address, and it can be a huge drain on your time and resources to achieve compliance.

Not only do plastic-neutral brands appeal to consumers, but certification can be used in your ESG reporting, in your marketing and employer branding, as well as on products, packaging and services. At the same time, plastic is removed from the environment, for recycling into new products, in a new circular economy.

Recycle. Offset. Repeat.

...by offsetting your plastic footprint...

Every business and organisation, small or large, generates plastic waste, either as part of manufacturing processes, as products and packaging, or simply through daily workplace refuse. Millions of tons of that plastic ends up landfilled, incinerated or mismanaged into the environment every year.

Now you can offset your plastic footprint in the same way as your carbon footprint, in a simple and cost-effective process, using CSR Plastic Credits from Corsair. With offsetting, you finance the removal and recycling of plastic waste equivalent to your plastic footprint.

Corsair's game-changing pyrolysis technology infinitely recycles plastic waste back into Advanced Bio-oil, in a new circular economy for plastic. Corsair are supplying international clients with renewable products as a replacement for virgin fossil oil, such as in the recently announced deal with Shell.

Plastic waste has now become a valuable commodity, as the feedstock for a new and profitable eco-industry. Plastic waste is being harvested from the oceans, landfill and directly from businesses for recycling - this is how we will solve the global plastic crisis.

The Corsair vision

The Corsair Group vision for a circular economy for plastic is founded on two pillars: recycling plastic waste, harvested from the environment, from landfills and collected from businesses and communities; and the widespread adoption of their CSR Plastic Credit system, which allows businesses and organisations to offset their plastic footprint, becoming net-zero for plastic, or 'plastic neutral'.

A new circular economy for plastic waste

In a circular economy, products and materials are kept in circulation through processes like reuse, refurbishment and recycling. With Corsair's advanced pyrolysis process there is no degradation of the feedstock, so plastic can be recycled infinitely. Plastic waste now has a financial value as a raw material in a new, profitable and sustainable eco-industry - paired with CSR Plastic Credits, Corsair offer a robust and scalable solution to the global plastic crisis.

We now have a scalable and business-driven solution to the global plastic crisis. Companies throughout SE Asia and Europe, across hospitality, transportation, health and wellness, manufacturing, construction, education and retail, have all taken the leap to becoming plastic neutral. At the same time, some of the biggest petrochemical companies in the world have become key customers for the Advanced Bio-oil recycled from plastic waste, replacing fossil fuel in a paradigm shift towards sustainability. We are at the very beginning of an exciting journey!

The global demand for Advanced Bio-Oil is growing exponentially

In 2024, during their fourth year of operation, Corsair launched their third facility, at Kaipola in Finland. Many more are planned. So far, Corsair have recycled 2 million tons of plastic into bio-oil. For every litre of bio-oil produced, a litre of virgin fossil oil stays in the ground - and the annual market for bio-oil is projected to be in tens of billions of litres.  On 12th Feb 2024 it was announced that Shell have signed an historic off-take deal to purchase Advanced Bio-oil from Corsair, and discussions are ongoing with more of the worlds leading petrochemical companies.

It is a Real World Asset digital receipt, proving that a specified amount of plastic waste has been removed from the environment and recycled in one of Corsair's facilities. The CSR Plastic Credit is the only plastic credit on the market that actually guarantees recycling of plastic waste, setting a new benchmark for plastic credits. And because it is blockchain-based, it is totally transparent.

Corsair to Supply Shell with Plastic Pyrolysis Oil from Finland

Corsair has signed an agreement to supply Shell Chemicals Europe B.V. with pyrolysis oil. Under the agreement, Corsair will deliver pyrolysis oil from its facility in Jämsä, Finland, for Shell’s facility in Moerdijk, The Netherlands. This is the second such deal with Shell, following an agreement signed in January to supply Shell Singapore with pyrolysis oil from its Bangkok operations.
